You can restrict access to a page (and its sub-pages) by managing its permissions. For this to work you must have already created a custom user directory in the User Manager.
To manage the permissions for a page click on the
tab when viewing a page. To control permissions, select one of the available options:Inherit permissions. This option means the page will behave in the same manner as its parent page. If the parent page has restricted access then inheriting the permissions will result in the current page also being restricted. This is the default setting for all pages.
Allow access. This option means the page is available to anybody regardless of the parent page settings. This is useful if you have a single page that you want everybody to access within a restricted area.
Restrict access. Selecting this option allows you to password protect the page (and all sub-pages). You must select the user directory that is allowed to access this page. Additionally, you must select the page that users are redirected to if they try to access this page without authenticating.
Ensure that the log in page you select does not have restricted access.
Click the
button to save your settings. When a page is restricted a yellow box indicating that the page has restricted access will be displayed on the page summary.
